Working with Ipsos Research, we surveyed 3,000 mobile searchers who had recently made purchases across different industries to understand the role that click to call – from paid or organic search results – played in the purchase process. We found that calls are not only an important channel for research and transaction, but also the presence of a phone number in search results can strongly influence the perception of a business’s brand.
Click to call is important to consumers across all verticals.
Across all seven of the verticals we researched (Travel, Restaurant, Auto, Local Services, Retail, Finance, Technology) click to call was an important feature for people looking to find information and make purchases.
- 62% of consumers searching for auto parts and services would be very likely to use click to call, and 57% would use click to call to compare pricing.
- 60% of those searching for car rental information on their phone would use click to call, and 44% would call to make a reservation.
- Within local services, 76% would use call features to schedule an appointment for professional services.
- 61% of people searching for financial services on their smartphones are likely to use click to call to make changes to their bank accounts.
Consumers rely on calls for research and transacting. Leer más “New research shows that 70% of mobile searchers call a business directly from search results – Thnz Caro Bertoni @MinervaZ”

Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the art of making your Web pages easier to find in search engines. If you are creating any sort of content for the Web, you need to know at least a few Google basics. Otherwise, your content may never be found in the most popular search engine in the world.
For some time now, social has been all the rage. Yet, many people are still trying to figure out exactly how social plays into their search strategy.
Where are things headed? What rightful place does social has in the search marketing mix? What are some tactical considerations you may want to incorporate into your plans?
Mark Jackson | Vía http://searchenginewatch.com
For some insights on those questions, as well as how to attain search and social synergy, I interviewed my friend Rob Garner, former VP of strategy at iCrossing, member of the board of directors and vice president at SEMPO, and author of “Search & Social“, published by Wiley.

Mark Jackson: What do you think are some of the most important elements of synergizing social and SEO efforts?
Rob Garner: First, leverage natural language for both search and social. Language is the tie that binds search and social together. Language informs content, dictates keyword theme, and sets the tone for social conversation. Study the language of your audience through keyword research and social listening to create solid strategies that will resonate in these channels.
Second, remember that without content, search engines and social networks do not exist. If your strategy leads with meaningful content, then you are on the right track. Content strategy that links between search and social channels is the key to overall success.
Third, get your search and social teams to work together, and not separately. This may not be much of a problem with individual practitioners who understand the nuances of both, but it is a big issue for business that operates these channels in silos. Get them together to understand how each of them can benefit the other to get more out of your overall efforts.

Facebook is preparing to introduce its newest feature, the Graph Search. The social network already has several great tools available to help you analyze content, build apps and get closer to your target audience. The Graph Search is another offering that has the potential to improve your social media marketing strategy.
This tool will have the ability to scan through user posts, photos, videos, pages and check-ins in order to make connections between different users throughout the network.
Here are some of the good (and the bad) points of the new Graph Search on Facebook:
New Fan Research
You will be able to gather new information about your fans with Graph Search, including favorite athletes, music, books, movies and more. You can use filters to segment your fans based on interests. (This will only work for profiles that are public.)
Results on the Graph Search will be based on App or Page activity, factoring in these metrics:
* Number of check-ins
* Fan activity
* Size of fan base
* User location
* User relevancy
* Relevancy to user’ friends
YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world. What factors play a role in order to be listed in the top results of the youTube search? Nowadays it is no longer sufficient to represent these factors only as a list. It is not enough to write the keyword in the video-title, description and keywords. The youTube algorithm evaluates many more signals. And all of the individual factors are related to each other. The following infographic gives an idea of what is important.

2012 saw a big shift in many search engines towards a more social search. With Google’s search engine integrating more social information from Google+ and other social networks, and Facebook’s plans to introduce new social search features, 2013 should lead to an even more social SEO strategy.
What is Social Search?
Social search uses the social network activity from the person performing the search to deliver more personalized and relevant search results.
Google implements social search by incorporating your Google+ community and its visited and liked pages. Google’s search also integrates statistics from social media networks to rank pages and results.
With Facebook’s massive user base and comparatively active community, its social search has the potential to be incredibly powerful. With all of the likes, shares, and comments on your social network, Facebook could deliver search results that are much more relevant to your likes and your community.

Amazing SEO Pointers That Are Guaranteed To Work (Amazing SEO Pointers That Are Guaranteed To Work http://t.co/cbQd0ibQ...)…
If you do not perform the proper SEO tactics, nobody is going to find your site. The tips in this article can help you make your website more visible.
Increasing your ranking on search engines will allow your regular customers to access your site. Unfortunately, some online businesses still underestimate the importance of their search engine rankings.
Duplicating content on your site will penalize you, by reducing the rank of your page. Instead, think of something new to write about to attract a different audience.
The correct anchor text is very important when linking internally on your website. Do not just put “click here” because this will not do anything for SEO. A better option is to employ descriptive keywords for your anchor text. This makes your page seem more relevant to the search engine spiders, helping to boost your overall rankings as a result.
Talk with an education or non-profit website to see if they will provide a link on their site to content on your site. Search engines look at results from these sites differently and rank them higher because they are considered reputable sources of information. Provide high-quality information that will entice reliable websites to want to feature your site. Write useful articles that these types of organizations don’t have on their own sites.
Make sure that you have a good description tag, so that search engines will direct your target customers to your website. Such a tag should not exceed the length of thirty words. Never go over 100 KB for this particular page.
TIP! Remember that search engines won’t be able to index anything that’s in a video. If you site is flush with videos, you have a little extra work to do.
You will want to put a lot of knowledge on your website but stick with your niche. For example, if the topic of your blog is baseball, you can write about baseball cards, baseball players, or even equipment for playing baseball. By providing a wide array of articles centered around specific subjects, you increase the likelihood that your site will appear near the top of search results.
