Welcome to our weekly series “Motivational Clips for Entrepreneurs.” Each week, we post a favorite video clip to inspire and motivate entrepreneurs. Why? Because we know how tough it is being an entrepreneur; and whether you’re launching a venture, trying to execute your business model or raising funds, you need a little juice to help you push the ball forward. I hope these videos are a little juice. Cheers, Scott

Obama Latest Viral Sensation Thanks To Tonight Show Spoof

Posted by Regina Avalos

President Barack Obama has gone viral with a new web video this week. The video comes from The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, and it is a spoof of an announcement made by Obama just last week that tax cuts for the rich would be extended. These tax cuts are left over from the Bush administration, and one of Obama’s promises when he took office was that these tax cuts would become a thing of the past.

That is no longer the case, and it is bringing Obama under fire by those in the Democratic Party. During his speech, he said the following: “Not everybody agrees with us. I know that shocks people…. It’s a big, diverse country and people have a lot of complicated positions, [that] means that in order to get stuff done, we’re going to compromise.”

This extension in regard to tax cuts is not something Barack Obama is happy about, but he is compromising. He doesn’t appreciate having to go back on his word, and The Tonight Show and Jay Leno decided to help our country’s leader vent his frustration over this political matter.

In this short fifteen-second clip that aired on The Tonight Show earlier this week, Obama is seen kicking in a door on his way out of the press conference. It illustrates his frustration with the moment perfectly, but it didn’t happen. The Tonight Show doctored the video for air on NBC.

A Practical Plan for When You Feel Overwhelmed

In general, September is often a difficult month: I’m catching up from summer vacation as are many of my clients, projects tend to regain momentum, the Jewish holidays reduce my work days, and our kids need more of my time as they readjust themselves to new grades in school.

But this year feels worse. On top of my regular client work, I have three strategy offsites to design and facilitate, my publisher’s edits of my next book to review, and a TEDx talk to prepare and deliver — all in a month. And then, of course, there’s my weekly blog.

Just to be clear: I’m not complaining. I feel incredibly fortunate to be so busy doing work I love. Still, it can be overwhelming.

And here’s the crazy part: I just spent the last two days trying to work without actually working. I start on something but get distracted by the Internet. Or a phone call. Or an email. Or even a video online that has no value whatsoever. In fact, at a time when I need to be at my most efficient, I have become less efficient than ever.

Vevo Traffic Up 62 Percent, Thanks To YouTube

Vevo is one of the fastest growing video sites of all time, having built themselves up to a whopping 48 million unique visitors in June, only half a year after their launch in December 2009. According to recent statistics released by the video site, Vevo’s traffic has grown 62 percent since the site launched at the end of last year. Though Vevo has done very well on it’s own, YouTube has played a huge factor in the site’s growth, as YouTubers can stream Vevo clips and many viewers initially discovered the music video site because of videos they watched on YouTube.

According to Vevo statistics published by MediaBeat, the site is currently attracting 62 percent more unique monthly viewers in the United States than they did when they first launched. Over the months they have surpassed ABC, MTV, NBC Universal, Hulu, CBS Interactive and Myspace in the number of viewers and continue to grow.

Steve Jobs Says Video Direct To YouTube In iPhone 4’s Future

Rumors are in the air that iPhone 4 users will, at some point in the future, have the capability to upload HD videos shot on their phones directly to YouTube. If this rumor, which was shared with MacDailyNews by one of their readers, is true then it could mean big things not only for iPhone 4 users, but for YouTube and citizen journalism as well.

MacDailyNews reported that one of their readers, Chris T., received an email response from Steve Jobs, stating that in the future users will be able to upload videos to YouTube over the air. The email correspondence, as published on MacDailyNews, is as follows:

Chris’ email:

Steve,

I’m a HUGE fan of your products… MBP, Ipad 64gb WIFI, 2 iphone 3g’s and now 2 iphone 4’s… but I have a complaint… What’s the point of building in HD video capabilities when the compression upon uploading directly to youtube makes the video’s useless and not viewable? They’re not even remotely viewable!! I was so excited about this feature on the Iphone 4, but sadly to say, this is a serious disappointment. In today’s world, HD video is pointless if I can’t upload it “as is” directly to the net.

Please fix this issue.

Thanks,
Chris
