Killer Jeans taps Grey Mumbai for advertising account in India

The brand is known for its edgy and international advertising. Karan Rawat, who recently joined the agency as ECD, has had a long-standing relationship with Killer Jeans.

According to a statement, Rawat’s appointment and the recent strengthening of the creative team at Grey Mumbai has worked in the agency’s favour in winning this account.

On the appointment, Sandeep Varma, VP of marketing at Killer Jeans, said, “We were impressed by Grey’s all-round skills. We look forward to some fresh new ideas that will take our brand to the next level.”

Reckitt Benckiser adds Durex and Scholl to its portfolio

The offer means that investors in SSL will receive 1,686c for every share, along with the proposed 11.6c per share of SSL’s final dividend of the year ending 31 March 2010.

The offer price and dividend represents roughly a 32.8 per cent premium to the SSL share price as of 20 July, according to Reckitt Benckiser.

Bart Becht, chief executive of the company, said that acquisition of SSL would provide a step change to Reckitt’s global health and personal care business.

Playboy launches ‘nudity-free’ website The Smoking Jacket

Run A Marathon… In Your Web Browser… No Moving Required

Running a marathon is hard. I should know, I’ve never even considered running one. But a lot of people do. And a lot of people like the idea of going to watch others run marathons. I have no idea why, but they do — I’ve seen it on TV. Anyway, if you have any interest in tracking a marathon, Skyhook Wireless has a pretty cool way of doing it.

The San Francisco Marathon is this coming Sunday. To coincide with it, Skyhook Wireless has set up a new “Skyhook Experience” to track the event. On their page, you’ll be able to see geotagged tweets, Flickr photos, and Foursquare check-ins all around the event in realtime. You’ll also be able to go back in time (with a slider) to watch all of the aforementioned data evolve.

The idea is similar to the Vicarious.ly site SimpleGeo set up for SXSW. Like SimpleGeo, Skyhook is doing this to showcase their data. On the map you can not only see (and click on) individual data points, but you can see heat maps of particularly hot areas of geo data.
