La gente con actitudes ambivalentes es más influenciable. Esta es sólo una de las conclusiones del nuevo estudio llevado a cabo por la profesora de marketing de la Universidad de Columbia, Gita Sohar.

Disponer de este tipo de información puede ser de mucha ayuda a la hora de negociar, vender e, incluso, dirigir la campaña electoral de un político. La información es, precisamente, la clave: si queremos convencer a personas ambivalentes o que no tienen definida su posición respecto a un tema, lo mejor, dice Johar en su estudio, es darle toda la información posible.

“Si un candidato puede proporcionar un montón de información, parte de esta información se convertirá en una piedra de toque. Especialmente al principio de la campaña, cuando muchos votantes son ambivalentes y no tienen mucha información. Generar grandes volúmenes de información entonces se convierte en una forma de definir la actitud de la gente”, explica en un artículo publicado por la Universidad de Columbia.

Una pregunta incómoda
Hace unos días, mientras impartía un curso de Ventas, se me ocurrió, casi por puntada, hacer la pregunta más latosa de la sesión: “Me pueden decir cuál es la diferencia entre una característica y un beneficio.”

Oh sorpresa, Cantinflas resucitó en la mayoría de mis participantes. Estas son algunas de las “perlas” que escuche atropelladamente como respuesta:

“¡Buuueeeno! Una característica es algo así como un beneficio, pero más chiquito. O sea, algo que está escondido en el producto hasta que se lo enseñamos al cliente.” Me dijo uno de ellos.

“No, no, no.-” corrigió otro con cara de doctor en lingüística- “Una característica es algo que hace diferente a mi producto de la competencia y al hacerlo di-fe-ren-te (separó las sílabas de la palabra diferente para demostrar su profunda inteligencia) se convierte en un beneficio de inmediato.”

The QR Code resolved to a mobile site where you could register for more pictures and videos of this new city car, although registration and video have recently been removed. This campaign ran almost simultaneously with the new Mercedes A-Class road test vehicles also in a QR Code livery.
